January 2005 - Update

Since the 2003 eHealth Summit, the team has launched a NIH-funded national trial of an optimized Internet system for pediatric encopresis. They sent clinicians interested in participating to their "info" site http://www.doctor.ucanpooptoo.com which provides an overview of the study as well as clips of the system for those wishing to work with them to recruit subjects.

The study should take the next 1.5 years to complete and then they hope to be able to present some fairly comprehensive data highlighting the effectiveness of this system. Also stemming from this research, a new international society has been created – the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions - with the first meeting having been held in Stockholm, Sweden this past September.

The team is in the process of writing additional publications specifically on the Internet encopresis program.
