The National Advisory Committee (NAC) is a broad-based and diverse group of content experts who advise the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the Health e-Technologies Initiative National Program Office (NPO) on all aspects of the program. Members are appointed by the RWJF.

NAC activities are coordinated by the NPO and may include:

• participating in and/or attending NAC teleconferences and meetings;
• consulting on the formulation of the research agenda;
• developing grantee selection and scoring criteria;
• reviewing and rating submitted Letters of Intent and Proposals;
• generating final funding recommendations for submission to the RWJF;
• making site visits to applicants as necessary, if appropriate;
• attending the Health e-Technologies Initiative's Annual Grantee Meeting, if appropriate;
• lending expertise to the Initiative as needed;
• providing technical assistance to grantee sites when requested by the NPO, if appropriate; and
• assisting with dissemination of program activities and results.
